Our Balanced Theory

We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form (after proper conditioning), when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter what behavior we encounter.

  • Empowering Owners
We empower Owners to train so their dog knows who to obey at all times.
  • Personalized
We deal with problem behaviors on a personal basis.
  • Environment Specific
We train wherever issues tend to arise (i.e. jogging, park, home).
  • Supportive
We support Owners in the off-hours (when training is "not in session").
  • Involved
We work with all members of the household.
  • Simplified & Customized
We plan training around the owner's schedule and require only 20 min/day follow-up practice.
  • Continued Training
Additional programs / group sessions offered after in-home training.
  • Lifetime Investment
We follow up & are invested in the owner's success long-term.
  • Satisfaction Ratings
Our high client satisfaction rating sets us apart from competitors.

Dog Training Elite Utah County is without a doubt the best option for dog training, I am so extremely happy with my experience. Before I started training, taking my dog, Finley, out caused me a lot of anxiety because I never knew if or how she was going to react. Then I made the best decision ever and hired them to help me with training and the results are incredible. Evan and Ryan were wonderful and helped me help Finley live her best life. I could not be happier with how well-behaved Finley is, while still being able to show her very goofy side!

Taylor did a great job on training me to train Tosi, my German Shorthaired Pointer. Plus help me prepare him for his Public Acess Test. Tosi has turned out to be an obedient dog plus a well-behaved service animal. Thank you Taylor.

These folks are compassionate and will also be honest with you. They are flexible yet structured. They are fun and serious about what they do. They are personal and professional. You know a thing is full of goodness if it can hold paradox and nuance and adjust to context. I trust them a lot and appreciate what they teach me. I have trained service dogs myself before but I got this new pup and my old methods weren't working with her so I took the leap to get into a beginners mind and learn a new way of doing and thinking about things with these folks and I'm glad to add this to my toolkit for working with my super smart independent pup. This is a passion of mine and they met me with their passion and helped me do far more for myself and my dogs than I was anticipating. It wasn't just helpful and liberating, it was therapeutic to trust them and myself working with my girl. If you put in the work they ask you to do, you will see results. It's the best part of my week. Highly recommend these people (Evan, Ryan, and Deidre) and the organization as a whole as well. Made me want to work for/with them...

I recently enrolled my Morkie, Zeus, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Kaycee was knowledgeable and helped us decide which program would be best for Zeus. Kaycee made everything seamless from scheduling, questions and payments during our 2 weeks of facility training. The training sessions were not only fun and engaging but also tailored to Zeus's individual needs and personality. Jake took the time to understand Zeus's strengths and areas that needed improvement, which made the learning process so much more effective. Zeus absolutely adored going to the training classes; it became the highlight of his week! I noticed a significant improvement in his behavior, from basic commands like "sit" and "stay" to walking politely on a leash. Beyond the training itself, the facility was clean, safe, and filled with a friendly atmosphere. It was apparent that Zeus was in excellent hands, and I felt confident leaving him in their care. I am immensely grateful to Jake and Dallin for their dedication and expertise in helping Zeus. I wholeheartedly recommend PTE to any dog owner looking to give their furry friend a positive and rewarding training experience. Thank you Jake, Dallin & Kaycee!

Just finished my 5th in-home dog training and I can't be more relieved and happy that I finally have the makings of an obedient dog. I still have 3 more in-home sessions as well as a bunch of group sessions I am excited to start. McCall Iorg, Jeff Slack and Dallin Renouard have all been a part of this journey and have been nothing but amazing! Couldn't have done it with out them!

Dog Training Elite San Antonio helped us go from a situation where we were looking at rehoming our newly adopted dog because of resource guarding. They trained the people and the dog well and now we are a happy dog family. The bonus is that we can go out in public and we always have the best behaved pooch around! Big thank you to our trainer Atakias.

I highly recommend Dog Training Elite in San Antonio. We hired them for help socializing our rescue pooch and it was a fantastic experience for Bean and my son and me. We learned how to be better owners and handlers and Bean learned to be such a gentleman! We’ve taken him to zoos, beaches, restaurant patios, etc. and he follows commands. Our outings are so much more fun for all of us involved. This is us at the Sea Turtle rescue in South Padre Island. It was packed with people and other dogs.

Our cute little puppy was seriously struggling after we brought a new baby home. He was nipping at my older kids, not listening, and totally testing his boundaries. We were very close to re-homing him but decided to try dog training elite. I loved that they did the free in home session and they had so many good reviews. I would 100% recommend to any dog owner!! Simba was an entirely different dog even after just one session. We had Ryan as our trainer the entire time and he was the best. We never felt any judgment on our serious lack of knowledge with dog training and he always checked in to make sure we understood and see if there were questions. You can tell he has a passion for animals and really wanted the best for Simba and our family! I love that once the personal training ends we have group classes and there is an open communication forever that we can call or text with any dog training questions that might come up. It is worth the investment for your pup and I feel like now we can have a well behaved pup that we feel comfortable taking anywhere and can really be part of the family!

We have been participating in training since January. I was very apprehensive going into the process. At the first group class that I attended, I had an anxiety attack in my car. Upon her arrival, Taylor greeted me and immediately began asking about my needs. She stayed attentive throughout the class. After the class, I had another anxiety attack in my car. I dreaded the next group class but knew there was support for both my dog, Tod, and myself. I arrived to the next class and Taylor immediately asked if I was okay. She had witnessed my attack the week before and asked if she witnessed me in the midst of another attack, if she could interact with me and help give guidance on how Tod can help with the anxiety/PTSD. She said that I was not the first person to show these emotions and that she was there to help. It didn’t end there! At the first service dog class, I had the same anxiety. She found me sobbing on the bench and immediately went into training mode. She assured me that I could get through this. We made it through that class and continue to attend. This whole process has been made easier with supportive staff like Taylor. She has made it where I don’t feel like my questions or emotions are out of line.

We have had a great connection with Taylor when we go the Goodyear group classes, and service training classes. Our dog, Jack, was a bit shy at first, but he loves Taylor so much (and so do we!) she genuinely cares about our experience and always asks what she can do to help. She’s very attentive to all the dogs at our group class, and everyone loves working with her. It’s got to be a tough gig, but she does it extremly well! I’d recommend all my friends with dogs to her. I’m so grateful to Taylor for all she’s done to help our sweet Jack get to be the dog he is today! We had in home sessions with Savannah and we love her as well!!

Matt and his team were incredible. As an owner who had previously only used treat-based training before, I was extremely hesitant to try other methods such as an eCollar. Despite my hesitation, Matt took the time to explain to me what an eCollar was actually used for and dispelled many of the misconceptions I had heard on the internet. Like treats, an eCollar is a tool, and one that surprisingly DOES NOT HURT! How do I know? We tried it on ourselves at the setting we would be using on our dog! After our introductory meeting, we were paired with Hunter, who is just the most incredible dog trainer any owner could hope for. Our dog was working on reactivity toward other dogs. Hunter took the time to explain both high-level dog psychology to establish a framework for us to think about our dog's behavior, as well as multiple tangible tricks and training routines that we could put into daily practice. What I really like about Hunter's style of training is that he doesn't apply some inflexible, his-word-is-law approach, but meets our needs and our dog where they are. Could not recommend Dog Training Elite more highly (except by saying, work with Hunter if you can)!

Cadey was having some major issues with reactivity and jumping on people. She's a big dog. She's a Lab/Pit mix and 65 pounds--so I couldn't allow this to continue. She's very smart but has always been stubborn. It took a while, but the reactivity is almost completely gone. She still gets excited to see people but has stopped jumping almost completely. These folks love animals and are very honest about YOUR role in the training. If you do the work and help your dog, the process works flawlessly. So far, I'm very pleased. 5 paws up!

I cannot express enough gratitude and admiration for the phenomenal dog training team. From the very first interaction, it was clear that this team possessed an unmatched level of expertise, dedication, and passion for what they do. I loved how my doggie (Oliver) felt safe and comfortable, paving the way for effective training and progress. Oliver absolutely loved Jake, he is awesome! He also trained with McCall and Dallin, and he enjoyed and showed immediately improvement into a well-behaved and confident companion, if you are seeking a dog training team that combines expertise, compassion and genuine love for dogs, look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend this incredible team. Definitely five-stars!! And Kaycee the administrative assistant is also a pleasure to deal with.

I cannot recommend Dog Elite Training enough! My experience with them has been absolutely fantastic and life-changing for both me and my furry companion. From day one, Sable showed unparalleled expertise and genuine passion for what she does. She took the time to understand my needs and my dog's unique needs and tailor a training program that addressed specific behavioral challenges. Throughout the training sessions, Sables positive reinforcement techniques and patient guidance transformed my dog's behavior in ways I never thought possible. From leash pulling to obedience commands, my pup has made remarkable progress, thanks to her professional approach. If you don’t want to read a long review - I will put it simply. If you have a dog, GET THEM TRAINED WITH DOG TRAINING ELITE! You will not regret it. If you want the long version here it is… There are not enough goods things I could say about the amazing people at DTE. We adopted our dog Margot a little over a year ago and there has been so many tears and frustrations and even thoughts that we may need to re-home her because we weren’t able to have people over, go anywhere with her, take her on walks - even just hanging out at home or cleaning the house was near impossible due to Margot’s reactivity and behavior. We are SO GLAD we found Dog Training Elite when we did because it has literally changed not only our lives, but Margot’s too. We started her trainings in January this year and have gone from pretty much never leaving the house to taking her on walks at busy parks, going to the farmers market, and she has even been able to make a dog friend just this past weekend! Not every day goes 100% perfect and there is still work to be done, but we have all the tools and continued support we need. I always know I can call the office and have any questions answered and successes celebrated when I need it. Jeff is our trainer and he is the best! Since the first time we met him at our consultation, each training session in our home, sessions at parks, group classes, etc. he has always made us comfortable, confident and calm. He has given us so much knowledge about our dog and how to advocate for her, help set her up for success, and guide her through situations where she is typically very reactive and scared. When we first started our sessions - Margot wouldn’t even look at Jeff and now when he has come to our home, she wags her tail and she also has even gone on walks successfully with his dog! We also have worked with Jake alongside Jeff at the reactive dog group classes we have attended so far and he is wonderful as well. And then there is Kaycee who works at the office who is an ACTUAL angel on earth. The week following our first session I called with questions which she, of course, answered thoroughly - and I also started crying because I was so happy with the changes we were seeing so quickly and she was so nice about my tears of happiness and relief. I have called many times since then and even had to go into the office to pick up some things a few times and every time I speak with her she is so kind and welcoming. Myself, my husband, Margot and even our friends/family will be forever grateful for this entire team! Pictured is Margot (right) with her new friend Sadie after lots of running and playing - this would not have been possible even 3 months ago.
