One of Dog Training Elite’s most popular dog training services is to teach basic dog obedience training in The Woodlands, TX. This includes both in-home dog training sessions and group classes for a more advanced approach.
We use positive dog training in The Woodlands based on the classical conditioning theory, paired with an electronic collar-- this is not a shock collar. Unlike a shock collar, an electronic collar does not hurt or harm the dog and is used to obtain a dog's attention. We believe in using ongoing praise to encourage good behavior. The difference becomes clear when comparing a dog that is trained out of anxiety and intimidation vs a dog who truly desires to please from the inside out.

Obedience dog training covers commands such as:
- Lay down (next to you & at a distance)
- Heel (walk with you, no more pulling)
- Come
- Place (go to bed)
- Sit (next to you & at a distance)
- Off (furniture when desired)

Our Balanced Theory
We base our training around the "Classical Conditioning" model (a.k.a. "Pavlovian" or "respondent conditioning"). This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form (after proper conditioning), when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter what behavior we encounter.
